Contentment

"Contentment involves putting the best possible interpretation on God's dealings with you...First Corinthians 13:7 says that love "believes all things.' That means that we are to believe the best about others. In other words, if there are ten possible interpretations or explanations for why someone took a particular course of action, nine of them being evil and only of them being good, the loving person will, in the absence of contradictory evidence, choose to reject the bad and believe the good. Now, if we are commanded to view other sinners with this kind of optimism, how much more should we interpret God's dealings with us in the best possible light? How much more should we forsake the harsh interpretations of His providence in our lives and accept the good ones?"
